Abstract

1380782 Treating webs ARTOS-DR ING MEIER-WINDHORST KG 31 May 1972 [4 June 1971] 25367/72 Heading D1L Apparatus for heat treating a web 10 of, for example, heavy piled carpet subsequent to a dyeing or impregnation treatment in a chamber 12 comprises open-sided steam chests 15 provided in contact with or at a small clearance from the underside of the web for condensation heating of the web, infra-red heaters 17 disposed downstream of steam chests 15 for condensation-free heating of the printed side (i.e. the pile side) of the web and steam fixing chamber 11 supplied with pure steam at, for example 130‹C. Guide rollers 16 are provided adjacent the back of the web for guiding it through the three heat treatment stages.
