1,263,097. Dyeing carpets &c. VEPA A.G. 25 June, 1969, No. 32016/69. Addition to 1,157,737. Heading D1L. The process of the Parent Specification in which thick voluminous textile material of large width, preferably carpet made of wool or polyacrylonitrile fibres is dyed and/or printed in a continuous 4 stage process comprising (a) application of the dyestuff and any auxiliary agent e.g. by means of a padder and/or printing device (b) a heat treatment with steam for setting the dyestuff (c) a washing or rinsing treatment (d) a heat treatment with hot air for drying, preferably on at least one sieve drum subjected to a suction draft, is modified in that either the stages (b) and (d) utilise the same treatment medium of hot air or superheated steam or the stage (b) uses hot air and the stage (d) uses superheated steam.
