Abstract
892,979. Keyboard switches. EGEN ELECTRIC Ltd., and BOWMAN, A. Jan. 24, 1961 [Oct. 24, 1959], No. 36088/59. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XL (c)] A wave-change switch may be operated by a press-button unit for a television receiver, which unit enables the receiver to be tuned to either of two predetermined frequencies in a given frequency band, depending on the position of rest of a member connected to the tuning reactance, the member having two positions of rest, one pushbutton when actuated causing the member to assume one position of rest and another pushbutton when actuated causing the member to assume the other position of rest. As shown, a push-button B1B on bell-crank lever 11a, pivoted at point 15, has been depressed. This operated the latch bar 19, which released any previously depressed button and caused actuating rod 8 to move rearwards against return spring 13. This moved claw 9 which moved the actuating plate 6 beyond the centre of its travel and spring 7 snapped the rocker plate 4 against stop 22, stop 22 being adjustable by pull-out knob 27 when key B1B is depressed. The cores of the inductors 5 are attached to top of rocker plate 4. If key B1A is depressed the actuating lever moves lever 29 and claw 9, and rocker plate 4 is snapped over to rest on stop 21 which is adjustable by pull-out knob 28. Tab 14 on actuating lever may be used to step a wave-change switch when a plurality of such pairs of buttons are provided in a tuner.
