[Also in Division E2] On depression of a push-button slidably mounted in the housing 1, 4 of a switch having a contact set 2 operated on depression of the button, a projection 7 on the pushbutton momentarily pushes aside a catch 3 pivotally mounted on the housing so as to latch the pushbutton in its depressed position (Fig. 2). To release the button, it is first unlocked by a key which is inserted into a cylinder 16 in the button and rotated to the left. This rotates the cylinder 16, and a stud 8 thereon projecting through a circumferential slot in the button is also rotated and pushes catch 3 aside to release projection 7 and allow the button to return to its undepressed position under spring action. In a further form (Figs. 3, 4), when the push-button is undepressed the stud 8 engages a fixed detent (12, Fig. 4) and before the push-button can be depressed it has to be unlocked by the key so as to disengage the stud 8 from the detent (12). In another form (Fig. 5), additional contact set (14) is operated each time the button is depressed or released.
