Abstract
1,144,286. Illuminated push-button switches. BROOKHIRST IGRANIC Ltd. 15 Feb., 1967 [24 Feb., 1966], No. 7260/67. Heading H1N. In an illuminated push-button switch assembly for a pair of reciprocally actuated switches 5, 6, Fig. 2, a housing 11 attached to an apertured panel 10 has an illuminating unit 48 fastened to its rear face and carrying the switches 5, 6 which are actuated from push-buttons 7, 8 through pusher pins 59, 60 slidable within the unit 48. The indicating lamp 52 is mounted on a forward projection 51 of the unit 48 and is covered by a lens 54 and a translucent colour cap 56. The illuminating unit 48 contains a transformer 47 for the lamp 52 and is attached to the housing 11 by a rotary latch actuated by slotted sheft 41 through a gear sector 42 engaging the latch ring (not shown). The pushbuttons 7, 8 are interconnected by a rocking lever (34), Fig. 4 (not shown), whereby only one of the push-buttons may be depressed at a time. In a modification each of the linked pushbuttons is latched in the actuated position by the engagement of a notch 82, Fig. 6, in a spring-loaded slide 81 with a backing-plate 71 of the push-button. The latch 81 is released by depression of a second push-button 64 which cams the latch 81 against the action of its spring 79.
