Abstract
1,111,405. Switches held set and freed mechanically. BROOKHIRST IGRANIC Ltd. 1 Feb., 1967 [4 Feb., 1966], No. 4910/67. Heading H1N. In a push button switch in which a plate 40 Fig. 5 is moved rectilinearly by the push button 2 to actuate one or more switch contacts (not shown) the plate 40 is locked in the actuated position by over-centre toggle links 50, 51. connected between the casing 4 and the plate 40. The links 50, 51 are released to the collapsing position by a second push button 3, Fig. 6, carrying a cam 84 on its push rod 27 engageable with a cam 69 on the link 51. Coil spring 80 holds the links 50, 51 in the locked extended position but its action assists the return spring 25 on retraction of the push button 2. The shafts 27, 41 of the push buttons 2, 3 are linked for opposite actuation by a lever 32 pivoted centrally on a pin 33. An extension of the shaft 41 and a button 49 on a bracket 48 integral with the plate 40 simultaneously actuate contact blocks (not shown) as described in the Specification of co-pending Specification 1,100,415, and screwed to the casing 4. The assembly is mounted on a panel by insertion of threaded bush 8 through holes in the panel for retention by a nut (not shown).
