Abstract

860,865. Retractive switches; hand actuating devices for switches. BURNDEPT Ltd. June 24, 1957 [March 24, 1956], No. 9262/56. Class 38 (5). [Also in Groups XL(c) and XXXIX] A switch used in a beacon and transmitter/ receiver (see Group XL (c)) comprises two thumb levers 37 and 38 which can be operated independently to depress one of the two studs 45 in the water-tight casing 44. The switch contacts consist of a metal plate 39 with projecting tongues 40 moving between fixed contacts 41. The plate 39 normally is held in the top position by the spring 42. When lever 38 is depressed the plate 39 is moved against the action of the spring to the first off-normal position. Depression of the lever 37 acting through the lever 43 moves the contact plate into the second off-normal position through approximately twice the distance as that caused by depression of the lever 38.
