Abstract

[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 21, 1940. ] [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In a wireless receiver having one or more switch assemblies for performing more than two switching operations by direct actuation by pushbuttons or by actuation by a motor controlled by push-buttons, each switch assembly is built up from two or more electrically connected switches which have fewer switching positions than there are switching operations. As shown in Fig. 1, a tuning condenser 4 can be connected to any of the four inductances 23 ... 26 by means of two coupled switches 14, 15 in series wifh a switch 16, these switches being connected to a pair of levers 12, 13. These levers and the condenser are actuated by screws 10, 11, 15 on a plate 3 when a push-button t attached to the plate is depressed. The adjustment of the screw 5 in the plate 3 determines the setting given to the condenser ; and the positions of the screws 10, 11 in one of the holes 6 or 7 and 8 or 9 respectively in the plate 3 determines the position of the switches and therefore the particular inductance connected to the condenser. These inductances may be for wave-range selection or for bandwidth adjustment. In another arrangement, Fig. 2, two switches 34, 35 are connected as shown between the inductances and the tuning condenser.
