543,777. Adjusting wireless receiving sets. COSSOR, Ltd., A. C., BEDFORD, L. H., JONES, K. I., and KNIGHT, W. A. Sept. 9, 1940, No. 14020. [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A broadcast receiver has a plurality of ganged sets of variable tuning inductances corresponding to the several wave ranges, the movable elements of each set of inductances being mechanically independent but being associated with an indicator dial, and means are provided to switch the sets of inductances alternatively into the operative circuits of the receiver. Each set of inductances may have an individual tuning knob and an appropriately coloured scale, in which case a set of push-buttons serve to connect the appropriate set in circuit. Alternatively the individual knobs may be axially movable so as to serve also as push buttons. In another arrangement a single knob controls all the sets of inductances by means of selective clutching arrangements operated by push buttons which also effect the necessary electrical connections.
