[Also in Group XXIX] In a device for cleaning or washing wherein a detergent is added to a current of water and comprising a detergent container 1 serving as a handle, a discharge tube 4 connected to a water supply, and a cleansing member 5 adapted to be fixed to the end of tube 4, the container 1 and the tube 4 are so connected that a pressure exceeding a minimum limit exerted on the projecting end of the tube 4 allows detergent to be added to the stream of water. As shown, hot water is led by means of a flexible tube 2 to the tube 4 where it is ejected through the detachable brush 5 or other cleansing member. Suitable pressure on brush 5 causes tube 4 to pivot at 6 in a tubular holder 7 secured to the container 1, thereby moving an orifice 13 in tube 4 away from a portion 12 of a pre-tensioned resilient ring 11 and allowing detergent to enter tube 4. The holder 7 is sealed to container 1 by an elastic sleeve 10. At the rear end of the container 1 is a filler plug 17 to the top of which is attached the constricted open end 21 of a flexible tube 18 which provides an air inlet. An adjusting screw 15, screwable in collar 14 attached to ring 11, is accessible through an opening 16 for altering the minimum brush pressure required to allow detergent through the orifice 13.
