[Also in Group XIII] In a washing and spindrying machine of the horizontal perforated rotary-drum type, liquid is supplied to a perforated central chamber C within the drum A. In Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), the central chamber is circular in section, while in Figs. 3, 4 it is triangular. Liquid is circulated through the machine by a pump (not shown) which delivers it through a hollow shaft C1. The perforations of the chamber C are preferably larger than those of the drum. Radial partitions a1 may be perforated or imperforate, each compartment having an end loading aperture d closed by a door D. Heated air for drying is supplied through a duct D1.
