889,939. Pot burners. STRUIJK, A. A. May 16, 1960 [May 20, 1959], No. 17163/60. Class 75(1) A pot burner has a diamond-shaped crosssection and has air inlets 15, 20, 22 in the upwardly diverging lower side walls and further air inlets 24 in two upstanding walls 6 forming a flame outlet 5 at the ends of the upwardly converging upper side wall 4. The pot may be circular or oblong in plan. The lower side walls are stepped and support a lower baffle having upwardly converging side walls 13 leading to an opening 14 and an upper dome shaped baffle 17 having an opening 18 wider than the opening 14. The air inlets 15, 20 direct the air to points just below the openings 14, 18. The air inlets 22 direct the air to a point just below the flame outlet 5. The air inlets 24 are arranged alternately in the upstanding walls 6 and are directed upwardly at a small angle. Further air inlets directed at a greater angle may be provided between the inlets 24. The inlets 24 may be closed by valves 25. The burner is enclosed in an air jacket 26.
