Abstract

1,179,565. Gas burners. GENERAL STEEL WARES (U.K.) Ltd. 31 Jan., 1968 [1 Feb., 1967], No.4836/67. Heading F4T. A gas burner has an elongate barrel 13 formed with paired transverse slots 14, there opening into the central lower part of the housing a Venturi conduit 15 formed with primary air inlets 20 and a gas injector opening 18, wherein a baffle 23 directs the gas/air mixture towards the convergent ends of said barrel. Slots 24, 25 in the horizontal arms of the baffle allow the mixture to pass to the slits immediately above the baffle. Troughs 30 between the pairs of slits provide flow passages for secondary air. A pilot burner may be fixed to plate 32 adjacent single slit 33 or the burner may be lit from an adjacent burner via a transfer tube.
