Abstract

889,336. Paint brushes; handles. GLASSON, R. A. May 30, 1960 [June 1, 1959], No. 18684/59. Classes 19 and 61. A brush has a handle 4 and a ferrule 1, within which the bristles 3 are secured, made from a thermoplastic polymer, the handle and ferrule being joined by fusion. As shown, a wedge 2 is inserted into the ferrule to position the bristles and the handle 4 is provided with a reinforcing block 5. The bristles which may be of a synthetic material or hog bristle are secured in the ferrule by a synthetic resin. The handle and ferrule may be made from the same polymer, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene.
