Abstract

896,763. Brushes; handles. BETTERWEAR PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 14, 1960], No. 8956/60. Classes 19 and 61. A brush comprises a stock formed from moulded synthetic resin of a substantially waterimpermeable character, e.g. polystyrene, polyethylene, and hollow, so that the specific gravity of the brush as a whole is less than unity whereby the brush will float in water, the stock being provided with a peripheral groove. As shown, the stock is formed in two parts which fit, and are secured permanently together by means of adhesive or welding or, alternatively, are releasably secured by screw means. The bristles, e.g. nylon hog's hair, are moulded into the stock or are secured in concentrically arranged rings of holes by a conventional stapling method. Alternatively, the bristles may be moulded integrally with the stock. The stock is either circular or polygonal form and may be used as a container for soap.
