Abstract

A bristle carrying element for a brush comprises a flexible bristle support B formed of moulded plastic material, e.g. polythene, with tapered bristles B1 integral therewith and projecting from one face thereof and a series of withdrawal projections B2 formed on the opposite face thereof each substantially directly behind a bristle or behind a group of bristles where they can be used to withdraw the bristles from moulding cavities individually or <PICT:0629632/IV (a)/1> in groups. The projection behind each bristle may be of circular cross-section or a rib-like projection may extend behind each row of bristles.
