888,911. Hair-cutting capes. DARNUTZER, D. J., MARSH, L. R. & KOFOED, I. E. Oct. 20, 1959 [Oct. 23, 1958], No. 35559/59. Class 141 [Also in Group XIV] A hair cutting cape having a front opening comprises a flexible annular body portion of circular, elliptical or polygonal shape provided at its outer edge with a relatively rigid upturned rim 15. The body portion comprises a synthetic resin film consisting of polyesters, polyethylene- or polyvinyl chloride, or a woven material containing cotton fibres or polyester, polyacrylic, cellulose acetate or polyvinyl chloride fibres. The rim 15 may consist of a strip of a synthetic resin or a woven fabric impregnated with a synthetic resin, secured to the body portion by heatsealing, stitching or adhesive means. In a modification, Fig. 6, a removable stay 25 of polyethylene or cellulose acetate is inserted in a hem formed at the edge of the body portion. The overlapping edges 12 of the front opening are adjustably connected by snap fasteners, hooks, buttons or clips and may be formed with lapels.
