Abstract

888,906. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. PRESSED STEEL CO. Ltd. Aug. 24, 1960 [Oct. 2, 1959], No. 33429/59. Class 102(2). In a method of storing and dispensing beer a full wooden barrel 11 is placed in an hermetically sealable metal container 12 which is then charged with an inert gas, e.g. carbon dioxide, under pressure through an inlet pipe 18. The beer is forced out through a pipe 13 which passes through the bung hole 14 of the barrel with sufficient clearance for the pressures inside and outside the barrel to be equal. Means for refrigerating the beer may be provided.
