Abstract

887,940. Inflatable craft. R. F. D.. CO. Ltd. Feb. 19, 1960 [Feb. 23, 1959], No. 6178/59. Class 113. An inflatable boat, having a buoyancy chamber 10 fitted with an aspirator 12 adapted to be operated by gas under pressure from the cylinder 13, has baffles 15 and 16 formed with apertures 17 and 18 so that during inflation the port of the chamber adjacent the aspirator is inflated in advance of the remaining part and the induced air intake of the aspirator is kept above water level during inflation. The chamber 10 may have only one baffle and the aspirator may be fitted with a short duct on the inside of the chamber to direct incoming air towards the baffle. The boat may have two superposed chambers each having an aspirator and each baffle may have two apertures located towards the side of the chamber opposite to that in which the aspirator is fitted.
