An inflatable life-raft comprising a tubular gunwale (e.g. of superposed air containers 10,11) of circular or other endless form, to the lower part of which is attached a fabric sheet structure adapted, when the gunwale is inflated, to form the floor or bottom of the life-raft, has on its underside a plurality of water pockets 15 for enclosing a mass of water subjacent to the waterline when the inflated life-raft is floating level and arranged such that when the life raft tilts in relation to said water line, a mass of the enclosed water is raised above the surrounding water level to exert an effective nighting moment on the life-raft. The life-raft has inflatable canopy-supporting struts 13, and is provided with a ladder 162 and hauling-in ropes 16.
