Abstract

887,504. Inductances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd., and STEVENSON, A. A. July 14, 1959 [April 14, 1958], No. 11845/58. Class 38 (2). A metal casing 3 (Fig. 1), enclosing a pot core 1, 2, carrying a coil 13 is closed by a member 4 held in place by a wire spring clip 5. The clip 5 lies in a groove in the outside of core 3 and projects inside the core through four slots 7 (Fig. 2), to fit under lugs 9 on member 4. A spiral spring 11 presses down on member 4 through the pot core. The pot core can be centralised by a fibre packing-piece and an adjustable ferrite insert of the kind described in Specification 887,503 enables the unductance of coil 13 to be varied. A nut 19 enables the assembly to be clamped to a chassis and washer 20 is used for earthing connection. The terminal tags 14 may be replaced by terminal pins, the lower edge of the casing 3 being provided with three lugs which are passed through slots in a printed circuit panel and twisted to hold the assembly in place.
