Abstract
839,901. Inductances. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 4, 1958 [Nov. 21, 1957], No. 36242/57. Class 38 (2). A mounting for an induction coil having a pot-type ferrite core 10, 11 (Fig. 2), with a ferrite adjusting slug 20 comprises a rectangular plastic plate 14 with legs 15 at each corner straddling the core and tapped in holes 16 to receive screws, whereby a mounting plate (not shown) can be fixed and the core clamped against plate 14. The core parts may be joined by adhesive and ribs 19 are provided inside the central plastic bush 17 to grip slug 20 which is fixed rigidly when in its correct position by pouring in adhesive. In a modification (Fig. 3) for use with printed circuit conductors the core parts are compressed by a metal clamp 34 having projections co-operating with recesses 37 in the legs 31, a plastic packing piece 35 being provided as shown. External connections may be made to wire terminal members 46 to which the coil windings are connected at 45 (Fig. 4). The legs have an arcuate inner surface and the ferrite slug 41 is held by a plastic carrier 43 which screws in the tapped cup 44 and is fixed in its adjusted position by pouring in adhesive.
