Abstract

887,036. Glass fibres. COMPAGNIE DE ST.- GOBAIN. July 18, 1960 [Aug. 7, 1959], No. 24923/60. Class 56. Thermoplastic material such as glass is projected in streams from rows of holes 3 in the wall 2 of a hollow rotor 2 into a gaseous attenuating current confined between the wall 2 and a wall 6 inclined towards it in the direction of current flow. In the form shown, the attenuating current emerges, from a slot 5 in a combustion chamber 4. The wall 6 is cooled. An additional concentric blowing crown 7, with orifice 8, is provided. Specification 887,035 is referred to.
