Class 52(3) In a tripod stand, the legs 1 have adjustable ball and socket connections 4, 5 with a block 2 having a spherical upper surface 7 on which rides an adjustable stand head 3 from which a stem extends downwards through an aperture 6 in block 2 and terminates in a part 11 which holds the balls 4 in their sockets. A tapered pin 12 draws the parts together so that the legs and stand head are held in adjusted position by friction.
