Abstract

806,127. Lay figures. HINDSGAUL BUTIKSMONTOREN A.S. Jan. 30, 1956 [Aug. 19, 1955], No. 2956/56. Class 52(5) A lay figure comprises a hollow waist portion, two legs connected thereto by bendable stayput connections, and a hollow bust portion having two arms and a rounded lower end received in a correspondingly shaped concavity in the top of the waist-portion and maintained in frictional engagement therewith by springs. As shown, adjustable legs 12 are connected by helical springs 11 to a support member 10 secured to the waist-portion 1 and adjustably mounted on a stand 2 by a screw 20 and socket 3. The bust portion 6 has arms 8 adjustably retained in sockets 15 by a spring 16 and has a hemispherical lower end 5 received in a correspondingly shaped hollow 4 in the waist-portion which is apertured at 18 for t h e passage of springs 9 connected to the end 5 and to the support member 10. In a modification, the legs are connected to the waist-portion by ball and socket joints.
