Abstract

699,593. Lay figures. JONES, E. C. R., and STILLITZ, C. J. Nov. 10, 1952 [Jan. 2, 1952], No. 124/52. Class 52(v) A stand for trousers comprises an upper waist part formed of a spring steel band 10 with its ends turned in to form curls 11, the excess of the waistband of the trousers passing between the curls and being gripped thereby. A metal plate 13 attached to the front of the waist-band has its ends turned in to form sockets for legs 15, 16. The leg 15 is telescopic and supported on a stand 19 and the leg 16 is provided with universal joints 17, 18 so as to simulate the hip and knee joints of the human body. Shaped' metal strips 20 secured to the band 10 and metal strips 21 attached to the plate 13 shape the trousers. Projections 21a on the strips 21 engage the waist-band of the trousers to prevent sagging.
