A pressure regulator comprises a supply valve 26, spring urged towards a fixed seating intermediate inlet and outlet ports 14, 18 and actuated by a movable wall assembly 55 carrying a seat for a relief valve 32 integral with the supply valve and venting to atmosphere through a port 36, the wall assembly being urged by a spring 78 towards the relief valve and subjected on the lower side to outlet pressure and on the upper side to a pilot pressure. The pressure in the pilot chamber 44, which is in communication with atmosphere through a restricted orifice 84, is controlled by a pilot valve 58 attached to an adjustably mounted pressure-responsive metal capsule 64 internally vented to atmosphere and situated in a control chamber 38 fed with outlet pressure fluid through a passage 40. In operation, the outlet pressure in the control chamber acts on the capsule 64 which actuates the pilot valve to regulate the pressure in the chamber 44 and thereby to govern the position of the supply valve. The relief valve opens in the event of excess pressure build-up in the outlet. The two diaphragms 46, 48 of the assembly 55 may be of equal or unequal effective areas.
