Abstract

885,397. Gear-grinding. GROSSDREHMASCHINENBAU 7 OKTOBER VEB. Feb. 26, 1959, No. 6788/59. Class 83 (3). [Also in Group XXIII] A gear-grinding machine comprises means 35 for also grinding the axial bore in the gearwheel. The work-holder assembly 2 is adjustable about a pivot 34 for helical gears. The blank 3 is clamped to a rotary holder 1 by a rotary flange 11 on a slide 9 pressed downwardly by a fluid-pressure device 5. The slide 9 also carries the grinding wheel 36 and its feed cylinder 14 for machining the bore of the gear while it is clamped merely by the flange 11. For grinding the teeth with a hob 37, a piston 18 is moved upwardly and pins 23 are moved outwardly against spring fingers 26 by a conical plunger 27. The plunger is then clamped downwardly, causing the pins 23 to engage the flange 11 and clamp the gear more firmly.
