Abstract

885,300. Moulding hinges. HARPURHEY PRECISION ENGINEERS Ltd. July 29, 1960 [April 30, 1959], No. 14692/59. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXV] A mould for a butt hinge (see Group XXV) comprises upper and lower parts 6, 7 with cavities 8, 9 for shaping the butt 1, 2, a central part in which the lugs 3 are formed and projections 10 to form screw holes 5. Stainless-steel wafer members 12, 14 separate the lugs 3 and the pivot pin is held in the semi-circular grooves 13, 15. The pivot pin may be held in place by being magnetised, by having an anular groove engaged by a pair of members 12, 14 with smaller grooves 13, 15, or by having its ends slightly narrower and the end members 12, 14 engaging the two steps so formed.
