Abstract

884,241. Chucks. CSAKI, J. May 5, 1960 [May 5, 1959], No. 15902/60. Class 83 (3). In a hand-operated power tool 11 the driving spindle 14 is locked against rotation to allow a tool to be inserted or removed from a chuck 15, by an axially slidable sleeve 12 having pins 19b which engage projections 18a on the shaft, and pins 22 which on rotation of the sleeve engage projections 16a on a nut 16 and rotate the latter to actuate the chuck. The sleeve 12 is releasably locked in a member 11b by a ball 24 and a spring-urged sleeve 25. Prior to sliding the sleeve 12, the sleeve 25 is moved against the spring 26, and the ball 24 moves out of the groove 11d in the member 11b, into a recess in the sleeve 25.
