Abstract

883,842. Spring-producers. DIE CASTERS Ltd. Nov. 2, 1959, No. 37132/59. Class 69 (3). A nozzle 8 for mounting at the end of a rotary sprinkler arm 7a to cause rotation thereof by jet reaction, has a primary flow passage P and a secondary passage 24 in which a ball 26 freely oscillates into and out of the path of the water stream flowing through the primary passage. The water jet is thereby deviated from the axis of the passage P to provide a reaction driving force of a pulsating nature. The passage 24 is open at its top by a slot 24a and is closed at its outlet end by a plate 27. The movement of the ball may be controlled by a screw extending into the passage 24.
