Abstract

883,784. Spirit printing. AGFA A.G. Nov. 12, 1957 [Nov. 14, 1956], No. 35255/57. Class 98(2). Matrices are produced with the aid of the electrophotographic process using photoconductive layers which are developed with a powder containing at least one co-precipitate of a basic dye and an acid dye or substantive dye and a meltable binding agent, and may be used to transfer images on to paper which is moistened with alcohol to effect solution of part of the dyes. Three examples are directed mainly to co-precipitation of various dyes from aqueous solutions, preparation of a developing powder from the product with addition of synthetic resin as the meltable ingredient, using this for the photo-conductive layer by the process of Specification 798,184, and transferring the melted powder in image formation to another support which forms the matrix. Similar methods which differ by absence of the co-precipitation feature are described. Specifications 883,782 and 883,783 also are referred to.
