Abstract

1337427 Electrosensitive coating compositions KANSAI PAINT CO Ltd 19 Oct 1970 [12 May 1970 29 June 1970 28 Aug 1970] 49626/70 Headings C3B C3F C3P and C3R [Also in Division D2] A composition for an electrosensitive recording material comprises 100 parts by weight of doped ZnO in 150-1000 parts by weight of binder, the zinc oxide being doped with an oxide of trivalent or tetravalent donor impurity element having an ionic radius of less than 0À74 Angstroms. The dopant element is preferably Co, Ga, Al, Fe, Cr, Si, Ge, Ti or Sn. A fatty acid metallic soap may be added to the composition, e.g. Al oleate, Zn stearate or Cu palmitate. The binder may be a mixture of a polyamide and epoxy resin, an acrylic resin and a polyisocyanate, various modified alkyd resins, a butylated urea melamine or benzoguanamine resin, copoly vinyl chloride-acetate, copoly maleic acidvinyl chloride-acetate or polyacryl polyol. The composition is coated on a substrate coated with Al, Zn or Sn to give a recording element. Specification 1,296,331 is referred to.
