882,678. Marine signalling apparatus. BENGTSSON, S. W. April 11, 1958 [April 13, 1957; March 20, 1958], No. 11582/58. Class 118. The standard whistle code for signalling change of direction is supplemented by corresponding lamp flashes. The lamps 1-3 are controlled by a selected one of cams 13-16 driven by a motor 7 under control of a selector switch 6. Lamp 1 is green and signals starboard zero with groups of single flashes, lamps 2 are red and signal port yaw with groups of two flashes, and lamp 3 which is of another colour can selectively signal groups of three flashes (astern) or groups of five flashes (proceeding). In a second embodiment a single lamp is used for all codes and the motor completes a complete revolution to a predetermined starting position when the signal is discontinued.
