Abstract

881,898. Securing railway rails. MOLYNEUX, G. June 7, 1958, No. 18274/58. Class 104 (2). A device for securing a track rail 1 in position on a support 9 comprises a plate 3 with a slot or number of parallel slots 4 extending obliquely with respect to opposite side surfaces 5 and 5a of the plate. In use, each slot is threaded by a fixed bolt 8 and movement of the plate parallel to the rail causes one of the side surfaces to move the rail laterally. The slots are unequally spaced from the said side surfaces so that the range of lateral rail movement can be varied by end-to-end reversal of the plate. The plate has overhanging portions 6 adapted to engage the rail flange 2.
