Abstract

881,594. Vacuum cleaner nozzles. ELECTROLUX Ltd. Aug. 31, 1959 [Sept. 25, 1958], No. 29613/59. Class 8(1). A suction tool for a vacuum cleaner, comprising a nozzle 15 which is surrounded by a brush 26, or other flexible member of soft material, carried by a housing 23. A U-shaped bail 28 has one end pivoted to the nozzle 15 and the other end, to the housing 23 ; the nozzle and housing are also connected by springs 37 which snap over to two positions. Fig. 1 shows the brush engaging the floor, with the nozzle 15 slightly raised ; by foot pressure, the nozzle can be pressed on to the floor, the springs 37 snapping over to raise the brush above the level of the nozzle. The tool is rotatably mounted on a spigot, on the suction tube 11 and provided with a further smaller nozzle 16, so that either nozzle 15 or 16 can be connected to suction,
