Abstract
880,784. Heating steam boilers by hot liquids. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H., L. & C. Feb. 12, 1958, No. 4662/58. Class 123(2) In a cooling installation for an industrial furnace such as an open-hearth furnace, a coolant liquid, for example, water, molten sodium or a molten sodium-potassium alloy, circulates in a closed circuit including a number of furnace cooling tubes extending between inlet and outlet headers, a heat exchanger disposed in a boiler drum and receiving steam or heated liquid from said outlet header which gives up its heat to evaporate water in the drum and a pump which withdraws cooled liquid from the heat exchanger and supplies it to said inlet header. In a modification, the installation comprises a number of completely separate circuits each having its own pump.
