Abstract
879,826. Transmission line terminations. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. July 28, 1960, No. 26237/60. Class 40(8) To form a matched termination for a strip transmission line the ground plane conductor of the line is enlarged to form a cavity resonator and a lossy element is provided within the cavity. The line comprises a narrow strip conductor 1 separated from a wide "ground" conductor 2 by a layer of dielectric 3. A box-like conductive member 5 replaces the ground conductor in the interval between an inductive matching post'4 and a short-circuit 6. Into the cavity formed by the box 5 extend an adjustable capacitative slug 7 and an adjustable iron dust slug 8, these members being held in position by a clip 9. Bores 10, 11 are formed in the dielectric layer 3 for the slugs 7, 8.
