In an electric clock having an electromagnetically maintained balance carrying a coil the teeth of the escape wheel driven by an impulse pin on the balance are made of magnetic material and are secured to a non-magnetic disc or spoked wheel rim. The teeth 23 are cut from a ring 17 secured to the rim of the escape wheel. A permanent magnet detent coacts with the teeth of the escape wheel.
