Abstract
1,033,342. Clocks and watches. JECO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. June 22, 1964 [July 14, 1963 (2); Dec. 5, 1963], No. 25717/64. Heading G3T. A timepiece comprises an arcuate elastic vibrating member 2<1>, Figs. 1 and 3 (not shown), having a permanent magnet 6 secured to each tip, a rotary disc or escape wheel 12 arranged so that its outer annular regions can rotate between the magnetic poles of each permanent magnet, the annular region comprising an inner and an outer set of discrete magnetic elements 18 and 17 respectively, uniformly spaced around corresponding circles, the radial axes of the inner elements 18 being equally spaced between the radial axes of the elements 17, so that, when the member 2<1> is vibrating and the disc is rotating at synchronous speed each permanent magnet attracts successive magnetic elements to rotate the disc at synchronous speed. The disc 12 may be formed from non-magnetic material supporting the magnetic elements, or it can be punched from magnetic material in the shape of spokes, forming the inner magnetic elements, and supporting a rim, which supports teeth forming the outer magnetic elements. The rim adjacent one side of each tooth can be omitted.
