Abstract

878,701. Nuclear power plant. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 29, 1960 [May 4, 1959], No. 15210/59. Class 39(4). In a marine nuclear reactor power plant, the reactor 1 is surrounded by four steam raising units 11 heated by coolant gas from the reactor through ducts 13. Charging machine 5 is provided on face 4 opposite the control and safety elements 3. The shielding 8 is of cellular steel construction, filled with water and the assembly is contained within vessel 17 which is swept by air in a separate cooling circuit.
