Abstract

878,634. Mineral mining apparatus. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Jan. 6,1958 [Jan. 24, 1957], No. 518/58. Class 68(1). To allow the haulage chain 23 of a plough 11 working in a steeply inclined seam being advanced past the props 23 in the lower roadway 28 of a mine working, without removal of the props, the sprockets at the drive and reversal stations of the chain are so mounted in carriages 24, 22 in the upper and lower roads 26, 28 that they can be advanced towards each other a limited distance to facilitate removal of the chain therefrom so that it can be passed around the props 23 and repositioned and retensioned on the sprockets of the carriages, which are advanced through the roadways.
