Abstract

1,116,503. Mineral-mining apparatus. K. GREBE, 12 Oct., 1965 [17 Oct., 1964], No. 43255/65. Heading E1F. In a longwall mineral-mining installation in which an endless cutter chain is caused to circulate in a plane parallel to a mineral face to be worked to kerf the top and bottom of the face for the full length thereof articulated chain guides are so connected to the fronts of the face conveyor and to the alternately advanceable roof support frames of the installation that the guides can be angularly adjusted about axes parallel to the lengths of the troughing sections of the conveyor to permit of variation of the angle of attack of the chain to the face.
