Abstract

878,013. Insulation for dynamo-electric machine commutators. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 19, 1958 [July 16, 1957], No. 22526/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 35. Commutator V-rings are insulated with a layer of fibrous glass, preferably in sheet or woven cloth form, impregnated with a thermohardening resin, e.g. an epoxy or polyester resin. The resin-impregnated sheet may be moulded directly on to each V-ring prior to assembly, or it may be assembled between the rings and segments and consolidated by heat and pressure in position. If desired an adhesive may be placed between the insulation and the V-rings and segments. The insulation may be machined.
