Abstract

The tubular casing contains an electrical drive motor having a rotor and a laminated stator. The stator has, on its cylindrical exterior surface, several projecting fillets which extend parallel to each other along a large part of the stator length. The fillets are formed by button type projections (7) on each of the laminations (5) which make up the stator. The projections maybe T shped with their stems connected to the lamination peripheries and curved top surfaces matching the inner surface of the casing. The projections ensure that the laminations are a press fit within the casing, although the area of contact between the two is relatively small.
