876,776. Powder distributers. TOPP'S PATENTS Ltd. Dec. 30, 1957, No. 40334/57. Class 6(1). A device for distributing loose materials over and on the land comprises a hopper provided with a rotatable base plate 1, and a guide member 23 which guides material carried by the plate 1 to an opening 16 controlled by a shutter operated by a lever 22, the material, falling on to a distributer disc 18 which is driven by means of a shaft 24 from a motor 28, the plate 1 being provided with a gear ring in its underside and being driven from a wheel 11 through a clutch. The upper surface of the plate 1 may be provided with ridges 15 or studs and grooves may be provided. In a modification the material discharged from the opening 16 may be elevated by a conveyer to permit loose material to fall down on to an elevated spinner or spinners. The device may be mounted on a truck and driven from the rear wheels of the truck. Specification 876,775 is referred to.
