875,402. Electromagnets. SOC. FRANCOBELGE DE MATERIAL DE CHEMINS DE FER. Jan. 16, 1959 [Jan. 17, 1958; Dec. 20, 1958 (2)], No. 1762/59. Class 35. [Also in Group XXIX] A pilot valve controlling the operation of a main fluid control valve (see Group XXIX) is actuated by an electromagnet the armature 204 of which is movable in cylindrical pole pieces 202a, 202b and is formed at one end with a tapered hole 206 so that the amount of deflection of the armature is dependent upon the degree of energization of the electromagnet. The hole 206 may contain air or other fluid or a non- magnetic, solid material.
