A valve controlling the supply and exhaust of pressure fluid to and from a pneumatically operated apparatus comprises a two-part valve body 1, 3, Fig. 2, having connections-2, 4 to a distributer valve and the apparatus respectively and a valve member slidable in the body comprising a resilient cup-shaped member 12 mounted on a rigid hollow support member 25. The resilient valve member is formed with a central orifice in its bottom surrounded by a flexible lip 19 and the support member with ports 26. On the actuation of the distributer valve to supply pressure fluid to the valve, the valve member moves rightwardly so that a peripheral bead 30 first closes exhaust ports 31 through the end of the body part 3. Pressure fluid in the hollow support member then moves the lip 19 away from the support member whence pressure fluid passes to the apparatus. On the distributer then being actuated to stop the supply of pressure fluid, the pressure of the fluid in the apparatus first seats the lip 19 to close the ports 25 and then moves the valve member to uncover the exhaust ports 31. A restricted port 33 covered by a resilient disc 34 may be fitted to permit rapid exhaustion of the valve body chamber and a quicker response to leftward movement of the valve member. The ports 31 are protected against the ingress of foreign matter by a flexible gasket 32. In a modification, a resilient check valve 42, Fig. 3, is fitted on the upstream side of the valve member in a three-part valve body. On the distributer valve being actuated to stop the supply of pressure fluid, the check valve 42 immediately closes and any pressure fluid in the valve body is exhausted through the restricted port 33.
