839,642. Valve members. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. Dec. 28, 1956 [Dec. 30, 1955], No. 39520/56. Class 135. The valve member in a combined check and vent valve comprises an annular resilient body having beads 2 ... 6 formed thereon/and a ring of thiough ports 8. On application of fluidpressure to a valve inlet 9 the body 1 is moved to the right, the bead 2 being compressed into an annular groove in a valve casing part 15b, the beads 3, 4, 5 sealed against a face 13 of the casing and the bead 6 against a guide stem 7 formed on the casing so that pressure-fluid flows from the inlet through the ports 8, inclined ports 11 and an outlet 10 to the apparatus being supplied. On release of pressure, the resilience of the body 1 combined with the pressure of fluid in the apparatus seats the body 1 to close the inlet 9 so that the apparatus is vented to atmosphere through a ring of casing ports 12.
