Abstract

A spray oil composition useful in controlling fungus disease on vegetation (particularly Sigatoka disease on banana plants) consists essentially of a substantially non-aqueous mineral oil containing not more than 15% by weight of aromatics and not more than 2% by weight of olefines and having a viscosity of between 65 and 88 S.S.U. at 100 DEG F., and a specific gravity of between 0.849 and 0.879, the major proportion of which boils between 300 DEG and 500 DEG F. at 10 mm. of mercury. Optional additives include oxidation inhibitors, oil-thickeners, plant hormones, light absorbers and additional fungicides but the spray oil is stated to be ineffective in emulsion form.
